Responsibilities or duties
The Applied Mathematics Lecturer is responsible for contributing to teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation in applied mathematics while building a strong research profile.
Research-Informed Teaching:
Deliver inspiring, research-informed teaching across the curriculum that empowers students to develop critical, creative, and analytical skills. Apply mathematical theory to real-world problems, demonstrating its application across various disciplines.
Curriculum Innovation:
Lead innovation in curriculum design and delivery, contributing to improved student experiences, retention, and graduate outcomes. Develop and deliver engaging teaching materials, including lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
Research and Funding:
Conduct high-quality research in applied mathematics, dynamical systems, computational mathematics, or related areas. Seek external funding to enhance the department's research profile and collaborate with industry partners and academic networks.
Postgraduate Supervision:
Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, supporting their academic growth and career aspirations. Coordinate and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in their research projects.
Service and Collaboration:
Build collaborative research connections within the University, with industry partners, and across national and international networks. Contribute to service, outreach, and leadership activities that enhance the inclusive, collegial culture of the department and faculty.

Typed application letters should be submitted in triplicate to the University Secretary, Muni University, P.O. Box 725, Arua, or the Kampala Liaison office at UMA Show Ground, Unit No.3, 2nd Floor, Lugogo, Next to Prisons Show Room to be received not later than Monday 17th, August 2026 at 5:00pm.
The application letter should bear the title of the post and the reference number specified against the vacancy.
