Application for a 6.5 MW Hydropower Project in Madi-Okollo District at ERA tender job

In accordance with Section 33 of the Electricity Act, Cap. 157, the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) has received a Notice of Application from Bugongo Hydro Electricity Company Limited. The company seeks a licence for the development of the Okollo Hydropower Project proposed to be established on River Ora in the villages of Opibu, Ohio and Okollo of Okollo Parish, Okollo Sub-county, Madi-Okollo District.

The proposed Project shall be located within the vicinity of the following coordinates:
[WGS B4] (deg), zone 36;

Bugongo Hydro Electricity Company Limited intends to develop the above-mentioned Okollo Hydro Power Project whose proposed installed capacity is 6.5 MW. All the generated power will be sold to the national grid.

Interested persons are invited to inspect the Application/Notice from the addresses below:

Pursuant to Section 35 of the Electricity Act, the Authority invites directly affected parties, public agencies, authorities, and individuals in the project-affected areas to submit written objections or comments regarding the project. Submissions can be made by local, hand delivery, email, or other recorded delivery methods to the Authority at the address provided below or via email: secretaryera.go.ug. All submissions must be received not later than 30 (Thirty) days from the date of publication of this Notice.
