To achieve its Vision, Mission and Objectives the University invites applications from qualified candidates to fill the position below: Faculty of Health Sciences Senior Lecturer Purpose To prepare, teach, mentor, supervise, and evaluate undergraduate, graduate, and Master's-level students, including postgraduate diploma students, using current, innovative, effective, and appropriate teaching and learning methodologies and tools. Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning The successful candidate will be expected to: - Prepare and deliver lectures, mentor students, and evaluate undergraduate, graduate, Master's, and postgraduate diploma students.
- Assess students through continuous assessments, practical examinations, viva voce, written examinations, and other appropriate assessment methods.
- Ensure timely marking, grading, and submission of examination results to the Head of Department.
- Develop teaching schedules, lesson plans, and lecture materials before the commencement of each semester and submit them to the Head of Department.
- Train and mentor academic staff below their academic rank in their area of expertise to enhance teaching and learning competencies.
- Promote theoretically informed and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
- Supervise student internships, fieldwork, and practical learning activities within the discipline.
- Provide training and mentorship sessions to graduate students to strengthen their academic and research skills.
- Participate in programme development, curriculum review, and academic improvement initiatives.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to academic planning and decision-making.
- Compile and submit quarterly reports on academic activities to the Head of Department.
Research, Publications, Consultancy, and Grants The successful candidate will be expected to: - Support and mentor students in research, scholarly writing, publication, grant proposal development, and consultancy skills.
- Develop and maintain a strong record of original, high-quality, and impactful research publications in the relevant field.
- Identify, develop, and submit research grant and consultancy proposals for funding opportunities.
- Participate in scholarly activities, including:
- Writing peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Delivering public lectures.
- Attending and presenting at conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops.
- Review research proposals and projects submitted by students and academic staff under their supervision and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Contribute to institutional research, innovation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Community Engagement The successful candidate will be expected to: - Participate in community engagement and outreach activities to identify challenges related to their area of expertise and contribute to practical solutions.
- Serve as a contact person and provide professional expertise in their respective discipline.
- Build and maintain partnerships with communities, organizations, and other stakeholders.

- At least three (3) years of university teaching experience or relevant professional experience in a reputable organization or industry.
- At least four (4) recognized publications in the area of specialization within the last two (2) years.
- Demonstrated evidence of contribution to community engagement and service.
