Dalilang Foods & Beverages is a Ugandan FMCG manufacturer producing packaged snacks, including potato crisps, gonja chips, coated peanuts and peanut butter, alongside spring water, fruit nectars and energy drinks.

Job Description

Supports operational relationships between the company and contracted or prospective farmers supplying agricultural raw materials.

Conducts field visits to monitor crop progress, collect farming data, and facilitate harvest and collection point logistics.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Visit contracted and prospective growers according to schedules prepared by agricultural, procurement, or sourcing staff.
• Record farmer profiles, crop locations, crop types, planting dates, expected harvest timelines, and estimated yield quantities.
• Observe crop development and report visible concerns such as poor germination, pest damage, disease symptoms, water stress, and harvesting delays.
• Refrain from giving unauthorized pesticide or medical advice, directing all technical agronomy inquiries to qualified personnel.
• Remind farmers of agreed quality standards for crops supplied to the company and communicate expected harvest or collection dates.
• Coordinate collection points and communicate produce aggregation schedules to farming communities.
• Enter field data accurately into mobile data collection forms, spreadsheets, or paper records.
• Support the distribution and inventory recording of approved seeds, planting stock, training materials, and related inputs.
• Document farmer complaints and maintain respectful relationships while strictly avoiding demands for unofficial payments.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Degree, Diploma, Certificate, National Certificate, or agricultural vocational qualification in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, Crop Science, Horticulture, Rural Development, Community Development, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, Procurement, or related disciplines.
• UACE or UCE certificate holders with relevant agricultural exposure.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Structured onboarding training is provided covering crop specifications, mobile tools, farmer communication, collection logistics, and field safety.
