JOB DETAILS:

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture; or Technology majoring in Chemistry or Laboratory Technology from a recognized University/ Institution

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Agriculture Inspector for performing the following duties:-

- Collecting agricultural chemicals and pesticide samples from commercial dealers, distributors and farmers for analysis based on developed sampling and quality assurance protocols;

- Collaborating with the local governments Agricultural staff on the safe use and handling of agricultural chemicals and pesticides;

- Inspecting agricultural chemicals and pesticides manufacturing plants, distribution warehouses, sales outlets and farmer communities for compliance to the set standards and practices;

- Collecting, assembling and submitting data to relevant authorities on agricultural chemicals and pesticides;

- Drafting and submitting technical field reports to the Senior Agriculture Inspector/Officer;

- Providing technical guidance and information to applicants for the registration, certification and licensing;

- Providing technical support in implementing compliance promotion and outreach activities with other Government Agencies, industry and farmer community groups regarding agricultural chemicals inspection and certification;

- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
