This role ensures that all support services are delivered efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively, creating a clean, well-maintained, and comfortable environment for all employees. The Admin Logistic Supervisor leads a team of support staff and works closely with internal departments and external service providers to maintain high standards of facility management. Key Responsibilities 1. Canteen Management - Oversee the daily operations of the staff canteen, ensuring timely provision of quality, hygienic, and nutritious meals.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and menu variety, and gather employee feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the canteen complies with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Manage canteen suppliers and vendors, including contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and cost control.
- Supervise canteen staff, ensuring cleanliness, proper food handling, and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor canteen budgets and control food costs while maintaining service quality.
2. Factory Hygiene & Landscaping - Supervise the cleaning of factory premises, offices, restrooms, and common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Oversee waste management, including proper segregation, collection, and disposal of general and hazardous waste.
- Manage pest control programs and ensure regular inspections and treatments are carried out.
- Supervise landscaping and gardening activities to maintain neat, healthy, and well-presented outdoor areas.
- Ensure that all hygiene and landscaping activities comply with company policies and Ugandaâs environmental and health regulations.
3. Dormitory Management - Manage company-provided staff dormitories and housing, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained living conditions.
- Allocate accommodation fairly based on company policy, staff grade, and availability.
- Conduct regular inspections of dormitories to ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and maintenance standards.
- Address employee concerns related to accommodation and mediate any disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of occupancy, assets, and utility consumption.
- Coordinate with security and EHS teams to ensure a safe living environment.
- The Admin Manager on all logistical and facility matters.
Qualifications & Experience Education: - Diploma or Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Facilities Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- (A Diploma with extensive relevant experience may be considered.)
Experience: - Minimum 4â6 years of experience in logistics, facilities management, or administrative support, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing canteen services, cleaning, landscaping, dormitories, and building maintenance.
- Experience in an industrial park, factory, or large corporate environment is highly desirable.
- Prior work experience in Uganda or East Africa is essential.
Language Requirement (Mandatory): - Fluent in English (spoken and written) â must be able to communicate clearly with staff, vendors, and management, and prepare reports and correspondence in English.
- Proficiency in local languages (e.g., Luganda, Swahili) is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of facilities management, food safety, hygiene standards, and building maintenance.
- Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and vendor management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of Ugandan regulations related to health, safety, environment, and labour.
Soft Skills: - Strong leadership and team supervision abilities.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle emergencies calmly.
