This role includes managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and supporting financial decision-making through analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Duties and Responsibilities: - Financial Management & Reporting.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights for business decision-making.
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable.
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and efficiently.
- Manage and reconcile accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Ensure suppliers and vendors are paid in a timely manner, maintaining good relationships.
- Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory filings in a timely manner.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with financial laws.
- Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper tracking of financial transactions.
- Monitor cash flow and advise on financial planning and liquidity management.
- Process payroll and ensure statutory deductions are submitted on time.
- Internal Controls & Financial Systems.
- Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of financial transactions.
- Improve and optimize financial processes and accounting systems for efficiency.
Requirements Experience and Qualifications: - Bachelorâs degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 3â5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in retail or distribution.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
