The role is critical in supporting the companyâs operational efficiency and achievement of its corporate goals. Key Responsibilities - Reconcile company accounts and ensure all payments and receivables are accurately captured.
- Review, monitor, and maintain strong internal control systems in line with accounting policies (dual control, segregation of duties, transaction verification, etc.).
- Prepare the annual budget and monitor adherence throughout the year.
- Develop monthly cash flow projections.
- Process staff entitlements, liabilities, vouchers, and payments.
- Conduct and oversee monthly stock-taking activities, compile stock and capital reports.
- Prepare and submit accounting records, General Ledger (GL) supporting schedules, and management reports by the 5th of each month.
- Manage payroll processing and statutory obligations (WHT, NSSF, Local Service Tax, etc.) ensuring timely filing of returns.
- Perform reconciliations for general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and ensure data integrity in the accounting system.
- Maintain strong working relationships with bankers and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the stock control process, ensuring stock cards/ledgers are regularly updated by the Stock Controller.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience - Bachelorâs Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 yearsâ experience in accounting, preferably in an FMCG or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in tax compliance and filing.
- Professional certification (CPA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems, reconciliation, and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and commit to extended working hours when necessary.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
