Box 245 kampala Kampala 00256 Uganda Financial Services Accounting & Finance 2025-10-08T17:00:00+00:00 Uganda 8 ASA Microfinance Uganda Ltd (ASA Uganda) is hiring a MSME Officers (2) to Support the growth of the MSME business in ASAI countries, starting with Uganda, by contributing to the setup and flawless execution of the lending function from the outset. Leverage end-to-end knowledge of MSME lending, including product development, operational procedures, regulatory compliance, risk management, and portfolio monitoring. Go beyond day-to-day operations to play an active role in designing, structuring, and executing the MSME framework in alignment with ASAIâs long-term vision and strategic objectives. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - MSME Product Development: Design and define MSME loan products, eligibility criteria, credit policies, risk models, and SOPs tailored to micro, small, and medium enterprises.
- Credit & Risk Infrastructure Setup: Establish credit appraisal processes, risk control mechanisms, and portfolio monitoring tools, including credit bureau integration.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Align MSME operations with RBI guidelines, implement internal audits, and develop MIS and regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Operational & Credit Policy Development: Draft, update, and standardize policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant MSME operations across branches.
- Market Benchmarking: Analyze competitors to ensure ASAIâs MSME offerings remain competitive in pricing, structure, and delivery, recommending improvements as needed.
- MSME Portfolio Growth & Client Migration: Identify eligible microfinance clients for MSME graduation and design structured migration processes to expand the MSME portfolio.
- MSME Staff Training & Capacity Building: Train Loan Officers and Relationship Managers to deliver MSME products effectively, focusing on product knowledge, credit assessment, and client servicing.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to MSME verticalâs annual budgeting, forecasting portfolio growth, and revenue targets, and operational resource needs.
- Target Setting & Performance Monitoring: Define and track branch-level targets aligned with ASAIâs MSME growth goals, ensuring progress and support where needed.
- Data-Driven MSME Reporting & Insights: Collaborate with data teams to produce periodic reports, providing insights into risk trends, portfolio health, and operational performance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - University degree in Banking, Economics, Finance or related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 8 yearsâ experience in Financial Services Business Development; 2 of which should be at management level.
- Solid understanding of Policies, Processes and Procedures relating to Credit and Business
- Solid understanding of Credit risk modeling and underwriting
- Solid grasp of Risk control frameworks and credit bureau systems
- Solid understanding of Competitor analysis in MSME financial services
- Solid grasp of MSME sector & business model, its strategy and all of its products and services;
- Solid grasp and interpretation of industrial and national economic trends;
