About Organisation:
Oil Palm Uganda Limited is a joint venture between Wilmar international, Josovina of Singapore, Bidco Uganda Limited and the Government of the republic of Uganda. Oil Palm Uganda Limited (OPUL) has established over 6,500 hectares of oil palm supported by over 4,500 hectares of small holder farmers on Kalangala Bugala Island with two palm oil mills of 20TPH capacity. Replicating the Kalangala model, we are also undergoing development of new nucleus and small holder’s estates in Masaka, Kyotera and Buvuuma.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective provision of corporate legal services by identifying organizational needs, providing legal advice or sourcing and coordinating appropriate external legal providers and working with them on all company matters.
- Working with Management, provides oversight of all government and local government affairs with the company.
- Contributes to the development of organizational culture and policy
- Creating and communicating a favorable public image for the employer/ organization through media and other fora designed to safeguard investors. customers. stakeholders. etc.
- Establish and develop a link with the marketing department, team to ensure consistence between the clients advertising message and corporate affairs message.
- Review and edit all press releases of the organizations including social media e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, WhatsApp. etc.
- Responsible for building project objectives internally and externally through ensuring impact reputation and future success.
- Establishment of effective working relationships (internal and external) with stake holders.
- Support and implement strategies to build and protect reputation of the organization’ company both externally and internally, through media relations, government relations, internal communication. etc.
- Support the development and delivery of strategic direction of community relations strategies and procedures. voice of customers’ stakeholder feedback.
- Manage company relations with neighboring communities, those affected by the project, local government, and immigrant communities and other stake holders.
- Offer specialist advice on community relations and community development to management through the provision of timely and regular feed back to OPUL on the surrounding communities’ concern.
- Together with the relevant Officer (CLO) he/she will commission. manage & or support external service providers to comply with company policies.
- Collaborate with communities to protect all company conservation around the concession.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Possession of relevant degree preferably in humanities (Social Sciences, Education, Mass communication, Anthropology).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law/Social Sciences, Community/Human Resources/ Communication
- Managerial experience of at least five years will be an added advantage
- Able to supervise and lead subordinates
- Ability to collect data and use it to access social impacts of the project on the community.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good report writing skills.
