Job Summary: The Career counselor for Rwamwanja and Kyaka
II BTVET School will be charged with the duty of guiding graduated student
groups on their path to employment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Career Counselor will be the link between the graduates and the
employers. - Make a data base of potential employers with their contacts and
locations - Ensure that every student who completes is registered followed up
and ensure that they are working. - Facilitate the post-graduation model of Kyaka II and Rwamwanja BTVET
center in the settlement. - Meet with student groups every three weeks, follow-up on their
employment plans and personal issues. - Direct students to job opportunities and gives guidance on career
related issues. - Create innovative business opportunities in the settlement.
- Operate as a focal point between student groups and all the
stakeholders dealing with livelihoods. - Support the development of business plans and provide business
incubation services. - Follows up on businesses started by graduated students and provide
information and advice in business related issues including markets. - Monitor Business Skills Module in BTVET center and advises the
trainers when necessary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Finn Church Aid (FCA) Career Counselor job
placement must hold a Bachelor of business administration, Vocation
Education, Development studies, community psychology, social work and
social Administration. - At least three years of related working experience.
